Expert in contemporary religious issues

Research interests focus on aspects of Christianity, Islam, Christian-Muslim relations, interreligious dialogue, and contemporary religious issues such as pluralism, fundamentalism and extremism.

Why Douglas?

An experienced academic

The aim of the critical study of religion and contemporary religious phenomena is to appropriately explain, not merely explain away; and, where relevant, to discern causes, influences and contributing factors that enable prospects for practical response and resolution, rather than dismissing religion as irrelevant in today’s world. My recent and current research has focussed mainly on two fields of study, namely examining questions in respect of religious diversity, fundamentalism and extremism, on the one hand, and interreligious dialogue and Christian-Muslim relations, on the other.
